My Personal Student Visa SOP Example – APPROVED LIKE A BOSS!

Standard and meaningful visa SOP example is hard to find these days. All you get is some copy pasted and repeated stuff in each SOP samples you find on the internet. I personally went through hundreds of visa sop samples but couldn’t find anything different in all of them.

With all that being said, I decided to share my personal SOP (Statement of Purpose) which I have prepared staying awake for days and night for my Canada Student Visa application. I would suggest that you take only ideas and references from this SOP and do not copy paste the whole SOP as it is.

Visa SOP is the most crucial part of your student visa application and visa officers are highly interested in reading your honest statement of purpose. So, if you copy paste content from someone else’s visa SOP, then they will figure out it really well. I get this question asked a lot: how to write a statement of purpose? I will explain.

What is SOP?

The full form of SOP is “Statement of Purpose”.

SOP simply means stating your purpose for your student visa application.

Visa SOP (Statement of Purpose) is all about sharing your experiences and giving a firm statement and/or a reason why you are eligible for any particular country where you want to study. So, my experiences and your experiences and reasons won’t be the same as yours and vice versa.

You will get to know more in a minute once you go through my sop example.

How to Write A Statement of Purpose?

It’s all about letting them know why do you want to go to their country to achieve your dreams.

Writing statement of purpose is all about proving your point about why you are perfect fit for their country and why their country is perfect fit for you.

Be honest and pour out all of your passion in writing that one paragraph. That one paragraph can change your life. Don’t take it lightly. Don’t take it for granted.

In order to write straight to the point SOP, first off, list down the things you want to write in one piece of paper. Then, start explaining those points in quite professional and convincing manner.

Try to make good use of your vocabulary. You can reference to some of the words I have used in this particular sop example.

Statement of Purpose Format

I have encountered numbers of people saying there’s no particular statement of purpose format.

I disagree with that. Totally.

I mean you are most probably planning for graduate school statement of purpose.

That’s not a small thing.

Visa officer would be more interested if you sound more professional in your SOP. And, in order to do that, your SOP needs to be formatted really well.

In this SOP example, I have followed really nice statement of purpose format targeting to make the beloved visa officer as engaged as possible.

Without wasting much of your time, let me show you my visa SOP sample. One can refer to this statement of purpose sample for Australian visa application, Canada visa application or USA visa application.

Warning: I would like to iterate one more time. Do not risk getting your visa rejected by simply copy pasting this whole SOP and changing the variables, words and your program. Remember, it’s not your college assignment submission. It’s for visa application for your dream country. Visa officers are not stupid. It’s real big deal. You are just supposed to reference it. If you still find it hard to prepare a convincing SOP, you can take my professional help for small fees by contacting my very own study abroad visa consultancy through email (

I have helped students with multiple rejections as well as first time applicants getting their visa approved by writing “one-hundred-percent unique” and meticulously strong convincing SOP.

My Personal SOP Example

Name: Unnit Metaliya
Address: 3, ABC, XYZ,
Surat- 349231, Gujarat, India.

Visa Officer,
High Commission of Canada

Subject: Statement of Purpose for Masters

(Note: Your subject might change like statement of purpose for mba, for grad school, for computer science etc.)

Respected Sir/Madam,

I would like to have this opportunity to introduce myself as a tech enthusiastic person whose life is basically all about computers and programming. Ever since my father bought me a computer, there were hardly some days in which I would not be on my computer learning something new, doing something interesting.

Slowly and gradually, the hobby became a passion and I made myself determinant about making a career in Computer Science. This passion and love for computers led me to pursue Bachelors of Engineering in Information Technology from Gujarat Technological University.

Why Masters of Applied Computing at the University of Windsor?

(Note: this heading will be different in your statement of purpose format. For example, mba, nursing, graduate program etc.)

As I considered my alternatives for post-graduate studies, the Masters of Applied Computing at the University of Windsor has emerged for various reasons. The interdisciplinary way of the program is particularly appealing to me, as this will give me a much more extensive, more down to earth comprehension of all major concepts of Applied Computing, including the advanced database concepts and also the network and security concepts.

With the innately worldwide nature of today’s computer programming industry, it is vital for me to contemplate in a universal domain far from my home country, and doing as such in one of the reputed university in Canada will absolutely give me a novel advantage in my career pursuits.

Having had the privilege to learn practical aspects of multiple programming languages and subjects such Data and File Structure, Operating System, Database Management Systems, Object Oriented Programming With C++, Software Engineering, Computer Graphics, Web Technology and Programming, Advanced Java Technology etcetera in my under graduation, I am confident of adding to the paradigm diversity of the applied computing world by joining the University of Windsor for my post-graduation.

The Master of Applied Computing offered at the University of Windsor will surely substantiate me with the right acquaintance, dexterity, and practice to accomplish my professionalism. Advanced Computing Concepts, Network and Data Security and Advanced Systems Programming are among the few courses, which I wish to pursue there.

Working out with the highly experienced and skilled faculties along with the prominent facilities being provided will surely back me in my academic pursuit.

My profile is having all the pre-requisites for the admission and I have secured my admission there. I have secured 7.07 CGPA in my under-graduation and scored overall 7.0 bands in my IELTS test.

In addition to the courses that I have taken in my under-graduation, I have been exceptionally active outside of the classroom, participating in extracurricular activities and working on personal projects in order to inspire myself and broaden my perspectives. For instance, I have developed Personal Time Management Application, a project, despite the fact that being non-academic, at last, gave me an opportunity to learn and implement latest technologies for personal use.

I have developed a graphics based game which was solely focused on increasing typing efficiency of users. Moreover, I successfully delivered a presentation to my juniors teaching them PHP Programming and Importance of Programming. All of my past endeavors makes me feel highly motivated and energetic at adopting new attitudes and encountering new things. This is definitely why I have chosen to keep improving myself by considering for a graduate degree in the University of Windsor, Canada.

Why Masters in Canada?

Canada was the first and final choice for me when I was in a phase to choose a country for my post-graduation because of some straightforward reasons. The education system of Canada is brilliant in all sorts of ways and ranked as best among the whole world. In addition to that, Canada is a safe and peaceful nation with superb health care facilities.

All Canadian institutes provide a dynamic, innovative and challenging environment in which one can create and nurture their true potential. Canadian qualification will surely be a strong base for boosting my career and building my future.

Every year, talented students from all over the globe do come Canada to study so that they can make their dream come true. Studying with them will surely expose me to their cultures and ethics, as well as improvise my communication skills.

How to end a statement of Purpose?

Now comes how you should end your SOP part which is really important as this will be the last thing that will be sticking in visa officer’s mind before he proceeds with next steps. You need to make sure it’s appealing in your own SOP.

Future Goals

After completion of my masters in Canada I intend to come back to my home country with the outstanding skillset and join the IT industry, which continues to thrive in India, as a computer engineer.

In past decade, the world has shown tremendous growth in IT sector and there is and will be a huge demand for IT professionals in near future. So, I would like to come back as a high skilled techno-functional computer engineer and join some reputed organization to make a bright career.

Hence, after completing my course I am confident that I will easily get a suitable job in leading IT organizations in India. At the end, my only goal is to be a successful and dynamic professional in near future which can make me stand out among all. Also, I have paid 11,360 CAD in my tuition fees and 10,035 CAD in Scotia Bank’s Student GIC Program to cover my first year living expenses.

Dear Sir/Madam, I hope that you will find all my documents in proper order and I kindly request you to process my visa application as soon as possible. I am very much thankful to you for giving me your valuable time to process my student visa application.

Unnitkumar Metaliya

I hope you liked my visa SOP example and got to know something new from it. It will surely help you out in your visa application.

I wish you all the best for your further process.

If you have made this far, great!

Genuine Temporary Entrant Sample for Australia Student Visa

The best Genuine Temporary Entrant sample is the one meeting all the criteria provided by the Department of Home Affairs Australia. The GTE statement is the must required sop document you are supposed to submit along with your Australia visa application.

In this GTE immigration sample, I will explain everything how my friends got their Australian visa approved by writing a strong Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement.

Unlike other websites on internet which just keeps giving you bullet points on how to write a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement, I am here to provide you with full and proper GTE statement sample written from scratch and brainstorming for multiple days and nights.

I searched for examples of GTE statement all over the place. I totally remember the frustration of not finding a good genuine temporary entrant sample when I wanted to draft one for my cousin. However, having been providing professional SOP writing service for over years now and helping hundreds of people from around the globe, I know what works and what doesn’t in your Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement. I know that secret sauce you are looking for. You will find everything in this Genuine Temporary Entrant Letter Sample Australia.

Hold tight till I share the fully written Genuine Temporary Entrant Letter with you. Before that, I need to explain few important points which will be hugely beneficial in your student visa application.

What is Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Requirement?

The Genuine Temporary Entrant is a set of requirements given by Department of Home Affairs Australia. It is there to establish trust on you with a motive that you don’t use your Australian student visa for any other purpose than studies. Many people get the student visa for Australia and they end up doing illegal work during their stay and don’t go back to their respective home countries at the end of their studies. Now, you might be thinking, who wants to go back after studies? I want to settle there in Australia. Nobody goes back. Everybody stays and things like that.

You are right. Nobody wants to go back after studying in Australia. But, unfortunately, the Department of Home Affairs Australia doesn’t think the same way. They want you to stand by your original purpose of visiting Australia and stick to that.

Even if you don’t want to return back to your home country, at least for the sake of your Australia student visa, you are supposed to convince them otherwise. And, the reason for that is, you could have applied under some other category if your full motive is to stay in Australia permanently. However, while applying for student visa Australia, you are obliged to stay to the Genuine Temporary Entrant Requirement.

How to write a perfect Genuine Temporary Entrant Letter?

It’s hard but not impossible. You circle around the main thing of sticking to all the Genuine Temporary Entrant requirements. You target on convincing the visa officer on your motivation being to only study in Australia and come back to your home country. You give them strong reasons about why you are worth it for their education system, how you will obey all the laws, rules and regulations. You convince the visa officer on why you chose Australia and not any other country. You prove strong ties to your home country and provide them with proper reasons why you would be coming back.

However, it all lies back to one question. Do I just put all these in simple paragraphs? How do I do that? That makes me write another section.

Genuine Temporary Entrant Letter Sample Format

You will find lot of people arguing against, there’s no proper format needed genuine temporary entrant letter. I don’t agree with that. I mean com’on. You are writing a letter to visa officer who will be making that Australia visa refusal or approval decision. You are supposed to give him some respect. Apart from you, he has got other hundreds of applications to review on daily basis. Keeping that in mind, you, my friend, would better be writing your Genuine Temporary Entrant Letter in high-quality structured format.

It would be highly recommended if you make the visa SOP statement crystal clear with all the GTE requirements clearly being met.

Start with your personal information involving your full name as per passport, your address, email ID you are going to use for visa application. Then address the visa officer proceeding with the subject title. After that, I would recommend to mention the course name, duration and institute name. After all these, you may begin the process of writing a strong, powerful Genuine Temporary Entrant Letter.

I think that’s enough of important information. Now, let me directly share the full Genuine Statement Letter Sample with you.

Warning: Do not completely copy paste this GTE statement letter and change the variable information as per your profile. Australia is very strict country when it comes to plagiarism. You will be taking a big risk just in case you end up doing that. No matter what you think it takes seconds to them to determine that you are showing them copy pasted Genuine Statement Letter. If you get the temptation to copy paste fully or even some paragraphs, hold on for a second and remember the word “Genuine” from GTE. There’s a reason why Department of Home Affairs Australia is calling it a Genuine Temporary Entrant.

If you still find it bit hard to prepare a GTE Statement Letter for your Australia student visa application, you can take my professional writing help. For a small charge, I help students on fairly regularly basis drafting a very strong, convincing and one-hundred-percent unique GTE statement letter perfectly tailored to their profile and background. From the testimonials I get once they get their visa approved, I firmly believe that I make their investment worthwhile.

Documenting My Startup Journey – Day 00

Hello, Ya’all!

I know it’s been a long while since my last post. That’s because life was turning in full circles and it was becoming hard to take time, throw some words and write a post.

Anyway, let’s skip that boring part.

I was lingering around this idea for a while and thought to make some sort of system which is solely focused on helping my targeted demographic (can’t reveal at this moment) when they need it the most.

It’s basically going to be a one-stop solution for what seems like a multi-level tedious process currently in certain field. Feel free to throw your guesses in my inbox to receive, “yes”, “no” or “you are close” response. 🙂

I will be revealing enough information once MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is ready. Means, product is somewhat ready for end-users to start using.

The other reason behind starting this startup is being exposed to all the latest technologies and put them into real-life-problem-solving-mode to get hands-on experience. I am a developer and this is something I should keep practicing. The idea behind starting something useful to make the world a better place provides a lot more fun.

The idea behind starting this startup documenting journey was to keep myself accountable to push code into master branch (private git repository) whenever I can. If not anything else, then it’s going to be an amazing learning experience for me.

From time-to-time, I will be publishing posts explaining what happened, how’s the process going, what I learned and much more. As I am working part-time on this startup, things might take a while for an update. However, if you feel impatient at some point, feel free to bug me in my inbox as it might boost me to put in some work and provide you with an update.

At this moment, I have listed current pain points of end-users and list of essential features. Also, I am working on system architecture and setting up the development workflow for productivity.

Stay tuned. 👍

The Addicted Gamers

So, there was this library I used to visit every once in a while.

For around a month, I used to go there daily. I wasn’t going to the quite floor. Instead, I preferred open discussion kind of place.

It was good for a while, but, once I started getting more accustomed to place, I started noticing my surrounding environment.

For particular time of the day, it would become full of gamers.

They’d come. Setup their laptop. Be so excited about the free time window they got between their lectures. Plug in their headphones and start playing.

Some would get so frustrated if they lose or something undesirable happens in their games. They’d feel like they lost part of their life.

I went there again after around four months.

I found the same gamers with same setup, same excitement, same games and same addiction.

Things didn’t change.

To be honest, for a while, I also used to play lot of games back in my undergraduate days. Then, I got bored and now games don’t interest me that much. I wish to develop/code some basic mobile games, but I don’t think I, myself, would play them.

Back to what I feel about these gamers.

I feel sad.

I feel they are as addicted to their games as a smoker would be to cigarettes and drinkers to alcohol.

I didn’t know why people get so lost inside their gaming world when I used to be that guy back in college. But, I know that now and I wish I knew it back then.

It has got something to do with built in music in their games.

The game development companies invest good amount of money in sound design part of the game.

They make it a hypnotizing music. A music which would take you in deep level of concentration and possibly make you feel unaware about your surrounding.

Do nothing but just play that god damn game for whole day long, just because of this music.

You don’t know it consciously, but your sub-conscious does.

That’s why you don’t like it when someone interrupts you while you are gaming.

I came to know about this thing because I use concentration music as my rescue when I need it most. I am a fan of concentration music. I mentioned it in one of my vlog (MY CONCENTRATION HACK) as well.

If you go on YouTube or SoundCloud, and search for concentration music, you’d find music compilation of same music used in world’s popular video games like Project IGI, Battlefield, Call of Duty etc.

Sometimes knowing the cause of addiction helps in getting rid off that addiction.

So, if you are an addicted gamer, this is the reason why you are addicted.

If you are not, share it with your friend who is addicted.

Taste of India Food Festival in Toronto – Video

One of my friend sent me a text asking, are you coming to the Taste of India Festival being organized at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto? I asked, what’s that?

And, boom! It turned out to be the best event I have ever attended in Toronto!

So many people. Delicious food. Variety of options, Music. Dance. And, everything in between.

I brought my camera gear with me and shot some beautiful videos and combined them to make a wonderful film.

Got in touch with the organizers and they got flabbergasted by the film. Hugely appreciated it.

All my friends liked it. I loved it.

You can watch it on YouTube!

Don’t forget to let me know how was it!

Letter of Recommendation By Head of Department – Best LOR Sample

Just recently, I shared one of my sample recommendation letter for graduate school admission.

That gained a massive popularity on internet.

In this post, I would like to share the LOR written by the Head of Department.

You will get to know how to draft a perfect Letter of Recommendation in order to show it to your future graduate school admission committee.

LOR written by HOD surely makes somewhat good impact on your study abroad application. That being the reason, it is highly advised to get at least one of your LOR to be written by your Head of the Department.

You may get lots of LOR examples on internet, but, hardly few of them would be genuine. I had really tough time to get best letter of recommendation example to reference.

Anyway, I ended up creating my own LOR from scratch.

Related: SOP Example

However, just to let you know LORs are not meant to be copied as it is. The LOR examples should be used to get ideas to tell your professors and HOD so that they can include relevant things you have done during your time of study by referencing the sample LOR.

Letter of Recommendation Example

Practically speaking, your assistant professors know almost everyone in your class. But, HOD knows only few exceptional students because of his/her nature of job. The admission committee would also be aware about this fact. They will surely read the LOR with different prospective if it’s written by the Head of the Department.

What is LOR?

Full form of LOR is Letter of Recommendation.

Letter of Recommendation is a documented draft mentioning the qualities of particular person for their future reference. LOR may be used for applying to positions in companies, applying for admission in high ranked universities etc.

If you are planning to apply for foreign universities in countries like Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, then, it is common practice to include two or more LORs along with your application.

LOR helps the admission committee to know about some qualities which are hard to determine by checking your results and resume.

How to write a good LOR?

Writing a good LOR is not hard if certain steps are followed. It’s all about flow of writing. Your LOR shouldn’t look fake to admission officer. That being the reason, spend quite a good amount of time while writing and editing your LOR before sending it.

You can follow the format of LOR shared below to get the genuine flow while mentioning your qualities.

How to send the LOR?

LOR is meant to be sent in enclosed envelope. It should be sealed and stamped before it reaches the university you are applying to. If you send the LOR without enveloping it, then, there are high chances of it being rejected. So, be mindful about how you send your LOR.

How to write a Recommendation Letter for a Student?

If you are a professor looking for a sample of writing

Referencing LOR is simple. You only look for the flow in any particular LOR sample you are trying to reference. Of course, your skills and quality would be different than mine. So, instead of plagiarizing the whole LOR as it is, try to come up with your own ideas for your LOR.

Let me share my letter of recommendation for student sample with you to give you a precise idea about how to draft yours.

To whom it may concern,

It is my great pleasure to recommend Unnit Metaliya, an undergraduate of my department, who is keen to be a part of your institution for your graduate program. I have known Unnit for more than three years as a proficient student, who always pursues excellence through enthusiasm and attentiveness, which is evident in his academic results and vigor for other curricular and non curricular activities. Few students are gifted with the talent and intent to project a new vision and cherish their aura for knowledge and the particulars of their syllabus. Unnit is undoubtedly one such student and thus I cannot deny him a letter of recommendation.

Each year, very few students offer a unique standpoint and really embrace their angle of learning the subject matter. It is on the basis of above discussion, that I simply could not turn down this letter of recommendation. He truly is an intelligent student with results justifying hardworking efforts. His hunger for practical knowledge is reflected in the various counselling sessions he had with me. His views and aspirations during group and public discussions are solid of his scholarly ability and gentle principles.

With the mind sowed with consistent inquisition, practical knowledge and passionate attitude, Unnit has constantly validated his finesse. His task involved activities along with genuine questionnaires during the debate, Seminars and group discussions activities truly indicates his oral eloquence. He depicts good leadership skills which one can evaluate from his project inclusion. He leads his team very well during the project presentations. He is aware of strengths and weaknesses of his team members and assigns task accordingly. He positioned his team third at our annual Project Exposure. Unnit is very well adored and respected by both his classmates and professors.

Unnit amazes me with his certain determination for continued improvement in his overall stature. I am confident that his talent will revere your highly reputed institution. I hope you will consider this request and admit Unnit into your esteemed university with full possible financial assistance. I will be highly grateful to you for your consideration.
